Lessons from Vietnam

Saigon Market- from a business POV - is one of the craziest places I’ve ever seen.

It’s loud. It’s cramped. Vendors are constantly walking up to strangers, trying to sell overpriced “real” designer products…

But the part that stuck out to me the most was how good sales people these vendors are.

Even just looking at a product? They’ll get you to experience it- put the hat on your head, lay the shirt against your body, put the mug in your hand.

And as soon as you do buy, in come the upsell offers.

“Buy another one, I give you half price.”

“Your girlfriend want one? I give her good deal.”

“This one looks good on you too!”

One of the most interesting displays of aggressive upselling I’ve ever seen.

If these Vietnamese vendors can aggressively upsell their products in broken English - you can figure out a way to get more of your products to your buyers.

Best,

Don
